WA Meat Up Quarterly Call

Join WA Meat Up for the first quarterly Zoom Call of 2025!

WHAT: Reconnect with other WA Meat Up folks, hear updates from WSU Food Systems, WSU Extension, and WSDA Regional Markets and MORE….

• This call will feature an update on Avian Influenza (aka Bird Flu) from the Washington State Veterinarian, Dr. Amber Itle.  Dr. Itle will discuss the current state of bird flu in Washington and across the US, what Washington is doing to keep people, pets, food, and farms safe, and how you can support these efforts on your farm!
• Also featured will be Dr. Sarah Collier and her team at the UW School of Public Health talking about their recent project investigating trust and consumer perceptions of sustainability in the livestock industry – more info HERE! If you sell meat products you won’t want to miss this! 

WHO: The topics of this call are focused on challenges facing Farmers, Ranchers, and other Livestock Producers, but we encourage all parts of the WA Meat Up community including meat processors, resource providers, educators, policy makers, eaters, food preparers and more to join to network and learn.
