Mission Mountain Food Enterprise Center

I am the founder of the Mission Mountain Food Enterprise Center located in Ronan MT. MMFEC’s focus is on incubating start-up food product enterprises, strengthening Montana’s food supply chain and bolstering our local food economies. The facility is 13,000 square feet, FDA registered, USDA Meat Inspected, Certified Organic and licensed for retail and wholesale food production and storage. MMFEC is also designated as a Food and Agriculture Development Center by the Montana Department of Agriculture, funded through a 2007 MT legislatively appropriated program. Our work in food systems extends over the past 30 years as we partner with organizations across Montana and the Northwest to build local food economies. I am working with projects such as Grow Montana Policy Coalition- of which I am a founding steering committee member, the NW Food Hub Network- a network of cooperative food hubs in the NW, Local Food for Local Families- a collaboration of organizations across Mt that are working to bring local food to MT families, Montana Food and Agriculture Development Center Network- 11 centers that provide TA to emerging food and agriculture businesses and The Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes Food Sovereignty Team Local Food Access project. I represent Montana Farmers Union and its farmer and rancher members on the state team and will be participating in the Connecting and Scaling Food Entrepreneurs Theme committee bringing 30+ years of experience in local food system development and food entrepreneurism
